This is the fun Middletown spot to grab lunch, and I always stop by, when in town. Today was not as busy as in the past (the local college held graduation last weekend, and the students are now on summer break). Still.. there was plenty of activity with many coming in to eat and talk. The tables & chairs out on the front walk, with Green Umbrellas shielding those seated, from the hot sun, were also frequented, from what I could see..
I positioned my small amp 12 feet away from where my mic stand and I stood, atop a strong coffee table, where It could be heard better. My mic, foot pedal, and guitar chords were all able to reach. I secured them under a floor mat/runner, so people could easily and safely walk back and forth through the side door. I love my Fish man amplifier. It has two channels, is especially designed for acoustic guitar, and contains anti feed back capabilities. As a result, it also acts as an effective monitor, which aids in my performing accuracy and pleasure.
The modest crowd started off some what enthusiastic, acknowledging my renditions of of I've Just Seen A Face, Shower the People, Rhinestone Cowboy, and Deal. That was sweet. Last week's positive experience at Whole Foods taught me the value of remembering to share insights and anecdotes about each tune. As a result, the music seemed to flow naturally as I played one song and then another.
